Music: Clawfinger – “Pay the Bill”

Hey it’s Marcus Couch, welcome to The Scene Zine episode number 157. We’ve got a lot of great music in this episode. As always we are brought to you by Godaddy Code ZINE10 for $7.49 domain names and also the Nokia N810 Internet tablet. We’ll talk about both of those things later on in the show but let’s give you a band here from Los Angeles, California to start things off this is The Murder Room and “Dead in California”.

Music: The Murder Room – “Dead in California”

Music: Soil – “Shining Man”

From Chicago, Illinois that is Soil with “Shining Man”. Before that of course is The Murder Room and “Dead in California”, though I’m feeling quite the opposite here in the Laguna Beach California studios of The scene Zine. Let’s officially start the show here as I open my Monster Energy drink. This is product placement here; They are not a sponsor of the show but would sure like them to be, so let’s unleash the beast together. (Can Opens) OK let’s take a quick sip here. This is like Michael Butler and the Rock and Roll Geek show how he opens the first Heineken, except I really don’t drink beer, so… Here we go with a Monster. (sips) Ah! Very nice, always wanted to do that. Now I can officially say I’ve got a vise on the show. It’s this monster energy drink. I love these things.

All right let’s talk about some actual paying sponsors. First let’s give you the rundown. We’ve got Godaddy and Godaddy promo code ZINE8 (Save 10% on anything), ZINE9 (Save $5 on any $30+ purchase), and that magic code of ZINE10. If you guys are into flourishing your ideas online like I am, I know I’ve got about 200 domains of various stature that I use for different things in business, different things in music, and some of them are just personal things, but Godaddy is always a place that I’ve gone to and I love em. I’ve really been intrigued by the different services that they’ve got, some of the cool hosting things and all the databases and SQL stuff that goes along with that. So check them out. Godaddy.com use the code ZINE10 to buy your domain names and if you want here’s a really great tip for you. Buy five domains and you’ll get free private registration. For 5 domains your total cost $35.75. That totally rocks!

Okay now let’s talk about the Nokia 810 Internet tablet. This device is incredible. I have one of these in my hands right now. I’d say it’s a little bigger than iPhone. It’s Wi-Fi, it’s Bluetooth, and it’s GPS. It has a built-in QWERTY keyboard, it is touch screen. The thing is just cool! It’s really nice to grab this thing first thing when you wake up, or when you’re doing your daily sitting ritual, seeing what kind of email you’ve got. You can check your Gmail; you can read documents, spreadsheets, that kind of thing. I’ve got a site set up for a Nokia N810 coupon / promo code for the N810 at n810discount.com. At that site you will find all the N810 promo code store links. There are various countries that can take advantage of this and let’s see if I can remember them all from the top of my head. The US, Canada, the UK, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and Sweden. The site n810discount.com is where you check out the Nokia N810 Internet tablet, and if you use the Nokia promo code SCENEZINE in checkout you can save yourself $72 in the US and Canada and 15%, which is an equal discount, around the rest of the world so it’s a hell of a discount. 72 bucks, that brings the price in the US down to about $407 for this device. I would consider and classify this thing as a laptop that you can put right in your pocket, it is that cool. So check out the Nokia N810 Discount page n810discount.com. It’s where you find all the links to all the different country stores, and I would appreciate you mentioning that you heard about the N810 on The Scene Zine to all your friends and anybody else who might be interested in this device. Okay let’s get back to rocking. We’re going to stick with the Chicago theme here. These are my friends Shadoz Edge from Chicago, Illinois. I used to manage this band and actually did most of the sound effects that you hear in this particular tune, especially right here in the beginning. This is Shadoz Edge from their album Reinvention with “Entity”.

Music: Shadoz Edge – “Entity”

Back by popular demand it’s Karnivool with “Shutter Speed”.

Music: Karnivool – “Shutter Speed”

Wow, that was fast! From Perth, Australia that’s Karnivool and “Shutter Speed”. I have a video of that tune I’m going to be featuring on a new video show coming up. The show is going to be called Hard Audio and it’s a video music podcast. It’s going to be kind of like The Scene Zine. Here’s my palate here, I liken The Scene Zine to not having a lot talk, being mostly in-your-face music, as that seems to be what everybody likes. On Hard Audio I think it is going to be more of my opinions about things and a little more swearing (laughs). So be on the lookout for that pretty soon. I think I’m going to launch that sometime in March. The domain is hardaudio.com and Hard Audio TV will be attached to that as well but there’s nothing up yet so don’t even try. All right, we are going to leave you here with a great band called Coping with Ignorance. This track is titled “Plastic Fixation”, which seems to be what we’re tied up in here in America. If you’ve gone to any stores lately, just go buy a pack of gum and they give you a gallon sized plastic bag with it. Not good for the environment at all. See this just the sort of thing I need to rant about on Hard Audio right here! Anyway, this is Coping with Ignorance and “Plastic Fixation”. My name is Marcus Couch, you been listening to The Scene Zine. Take care everybody!
